t. allen swaim jr. EIT, ESQUIRE

PROFILE

Allen Swaim draws on two decades of industry experience, first as a contractor, then as an engineer, and now as an attorney, to represent and advise contractors and owners. His detailed knowledge of construction was forged by growing up in the industry, attending a nationally ranked engineering school, drafting multimillion-dollar contracts with the resulting flowdowns for a billion dollar construction company, and as the owner of a mechanical and electrical construction company. He brings that knowledge to bear on both the resolution of complex construction disputes and the analysis of individual claims. His extensive experience allows him to give knowledgeable and pragmatic counsel whether the goal is avoiding litigation or positioning for potential litigation. When litigation or arbitration is at hand, his experience provides a firm foundation for advocacy on behalf of owners, construction managers, and contractors in all manner of construction disputes. His know-how gained from drafting, negotiating, and working under complex design/build, design-bid-build, and MEP contracts guides his drafting of contract agreements.
